Nature’s K9 Language

Most trainers focus on the dog responding to the Handler. Leroy’s 2nd Phase Working Dogs focus on teaching the Handler to listen and respond to the dog using dog language.

Leroy’s 2nd Phase Working Dogs engages the dog’s mind and heart. We do not rely on clickers, treats, prong collars, or e-collars. We read the dog’s body language and speak Nature’s K9 Language! This language is communicated through pressure-release body cues of both Handler and Dog that espouse spatial authority. True communication requires both Dog and Handler fluency in foreign language. The Dog works to understand English and the Handler understands Nature’s K9 Language.

Leroy’s 2nd Phase Working Dogs creates a positive learning environment in which Handlers and Dogs excel. We teach you to read the Dog’s body language and his cues. This is the basis of K9/Handler communication. From this point you will anticipate Dogs’ body movement and focus on what the Dog is expressing. Once this is accomplished, finite timing of soft pressure is taught. This soft pressure technique allows the Dog to make his decision for success; it also allows the Dog to learn from his choice and his ideas. Our training method is never based on force. Force is physical in nature; Nature’s K9 Language engages mind and heart. This is a beautiful thing that once learned becomes effortless dual communication.

The first step to this learning process is to work with a Master Dog whom is fluent in both English and Nature’s K9 Language. This teaches you how it feels to work with a Dog as a teammate. Once you become fluent in Nature’s K9 Language, you have the opportunity to work with Leroy’s 2nd Phase Working Dogs or work with your own dear Dog friend!
